When this client came to us to celebrate his stepdaughter's 40th birthday we knew immediately — this one called for restraint. Elegance. The kind of design that does not shout but makes everyone in the room stop and exhale.

So we let the palette do everything.

This year we made a choice — no traditional back to school red and yellow. No predictable apple graphics and chalkboard themes. We went honey yellow, dusty blue, and light blue. Warm. Sophisticated. Completely fresh. A back to school palette that nobody has seen before because we designed it specifically for THIS event and THIS moment. 🎈
It is never just a color palette. It is a statement that every child walking into that event deserves something that was thought about, designed with intention, and created to make them feel like they matter. 👑

Women are iconic.
Not sometimes. Not in certain industries. Not when the conditions are perfect and the timing is right and everyone around them is supportive and the storage unit is organized and the weather cooperates during install. 🎈
Always. In spite of everything. Because of everything. ICONIC.
I have watched women in this industry show up when they were exhausted. Build when they were doubted. Create something extraordinary out of nothing but vision, will, and the refusal to quit. I have been that woman. I am still that woman on the hard days. 👑
And this business — this beautiful, chaotic, rewarding, demanding, completely extraordinary business — is hard sometimes.
It is the thunderstorm during setup that soaks you to the bone and you finish anyway. It is the storage unit archaeology at 9pm to find one piece of greenery for a client you will not let down. It is the early morning alarm on a day your body is begging for rest and you get up anyway because your client is counting on you. I took my very first balloon class — and I walked out of that room a different designer than when I walked in. Fuller. Inspired. Completely on fire for this craft all over again. 🔥

A full day of learning. Of being a student again. Of sitting in a room with other creatives who love this industry as deeply as I do and absorbing every single technique, every tip, every moment of knowledge shared. 💫

And it was taught by a local small business — and I could not be more intentional about that choice. 👑

Because here is what I believe with everything I have — we rise together or we do not rise at all. Supporting the small businesses in our community, investing in the people who are building something of their own, choosing LOCAL when we have the option — that is not just good practice. That is good character. 💗

I have been designing balloon installations for 8 years. I have built octopus sculptures and ocean worlds and butterfly cascades and custom fabrications from the ground up. And I still walked into that classroom ready to learn something new. 🎈

Because the day you think you know everything is the day you stop growing. And growth is the whole point. 👑
